Helping Students Excel In Financial Awareness

Steer Financial a small business loan broker firm wants to lend a hand in helping students across the nation further their education.  We understand the difficulties students today face when pursuing higher education and the costs that imply.  As costs for higher education have risen, more than half of students leave school with debt accounting for about $1.75 trillion in total student loan debt nationwide.

We have created a $1,000 scholarship to increase and promote the importance of financial literacy.  Get rewarded for learning how important topics in building a financial foundation and developing healthy credit habits are. This scholarship aims to raise awareness to students who are committed about taking charge of their finances. 

Scholarship Eligibility

  1. Currently enrolled at an accredited high school, college, or university in the United States

  2. Must be enrolled as either an undergraduate, graduate, or in their final year of high school

  3. United States citizen residing in the United States and the District of Colombia

  4. Must be age 17 or older

Scholarship Amount

$1,000 awarded one time

Essay Topic

​No matter how many challenges you have been through, you have a new story to share.  Please write an original 1,000 word essay on the following prompts below:

  1. What is one personal financial lesson you find important?

  2. ​If you are granted the scholarship, how would this help in furthering your education?


  • The deadline to apply for this scholarship is AUGUST 1, 2023.

  • Winner will be announced by AUGUST 31, 2023.

We will notify the scholarship winner by either phone or email and the winner will be announced on our firm's website.
